Baby Sophia was born in the wee morning hours on December 10th. And the very next day Ales and I got to see her and I got to snap some great newborn shots of her sweet pink face. Sadly I didn't have my new lens at that point, so I'm planning on taking more, even better photos. So we'll call these the "First Few Days" with the "First Month" to come ; ) |

How many of you have heard of Etsy?? Anyone?
A September Wedding
Our neighbour, or rather Ales' long time neighbour, got married in September and I had the honor to snap a few shots and be "his" photographer. I took a few portrait shots that I was pretty happy with, but overall I had just gotten my camera, and am still working on "real" events, so it was a work in progress, but I really enjoyed it.
So here's a few of my favorite shots:
An Old Russian Car

Sometimes when I take a picture I am more excited about it's potential than I am about what is actually showing up on my LCD screen. This was the case as I tried to inconspicuously take shots of this very old Russian car near Ales' parents house. |

Fall-y Pics
Ah, Fall. This year I feel like Fall has passed me in a blurry haze. The days have been more dreary and depressing than I ever remember them, and now that we are finally getting some sunshine all the leaves have fallen! I'm so sad, I was immensely looking forward to taking a gadzillion pictures of cool leaves. So instead I settled for some other things, and the few leaves I could find still hanging onto a semblence of life.
Summer Photography (People)
Here are some people pictures I've taken over the brief summer here in Belarus. Some are goofy and some I just really love ... mainly because I love my camera. And I love Photoshop. My two addictions of the moment. So here we go:
Summer Photography (Still life)
Here's a sampling of a few photos I took over the summer (or the end of it) here in Belarus... I am shooting with my new (wedding present!!) Nikon D40. And I love it. I love it, I have completely fallen in love. I shall never pick up a point and shoot again. (well, unless I'm forced)
I shoot in manual mode almost 100% of the time. Unless I am in a major pinch for time and cannot adjust my settings fast enough, but that doesn't happen too much.
